For the past 10 years or so I have been a gambler and player of casino games. I admit that I have had many fine moments as a player, but also many bad days. Probably the only good thing about being a gambler, other than the opportunity to win big, is that it can teach you a lot of patience.
Once you learn to patience, and inner knowing that you will win sometimes and lose as well, you can then begin to profit from your casinos. You can’t win every hand, but with the right attitude and a lot of patience you can take your losses and turn them into profit.
Now, for those of you who say you will never learn to be a winner, I say, forget about it. Don’t waste your time and money on playing video games that are designed to teach you how to be a winner. Why, you ask? Because 95% of those games are based solely on probability. They are programmed to make you think the game is a 50-50 game, when really it is a 101-1 game.
Aside from the fact that most of these video games are programmed to make you think of poker super fast, what’s the point? The point is simple. You need to program your mind to quit thinking the game is random. You need to program it to believe that you can win sometimes and lose sometimes. If you believe that you can win some of the time, and lose most of the time, then the odds will properly fruitify your strategy. Be patient. Eventually, believing you will win some of the time will give you a mental edge.Be patient. 99% of the time, you will win. Most of the time, you will lose. Why? Because the mind likes to assume that winning means you get good cards, and losing means you don’t get good cards.
The starting hands in poker are normally the first thing you learn and focus on. The temptation is to play something different every time, but 99% of the time, you will get stuck in a rut and not learn anything new. It is far better to discard the garbage hands and start again with heavier, more profitable starting hands.
Just remember that even the pros plays 1000 hands per hour. They are not doing it to be random or sleep walking, they are doing it because they know that if they stick with a formula, it will work over time. aking more money from poker is an art, not a science. I am not saying you can’t work methods into your game that requires a few hours a day, but you need to have patience. Playing poker and being patient is a difficult combination to strike. If you take poker too literally, you will lose more than you will win. Poker is a game of odds, probabilities and discipline. It’s not a sprint to the finish line. Be patient. Be consistent. Poker takes work and dedication, but most of all, it’s a game of odds, not sprints.
